TRANSPLANT COORDINATION OF HOSPITAL UNIVERSITARI I POLITÈCNIC LA FE

 

The Transplant Coordination is the hospital's department which organizes the transplant activities.

This department is formed by the Coordination team and by the Transplantation Committee.

 

1.- COORDINATION TEAM

 

The functions of the Coordination team are:

  • To guarantee the effectiveness of the Hospital's Transplant Programme.

  • Coordination between hospitals.

  • In-hospital coordination for organ transplantation.

  • Coordination of the Hospital's Programme with the Spanish National Transplant Organization.

  • Relationship between the hospital and the central units of the Department of Health of the Government of Valencia

  • Cooperation with information and promotion campaigns on donations

 

        2.- TRANSPLANTATION COMMITTEE

 

The functions of theCommittee are:

  • To advice the hospital'sAdministration on the activities related to organ and tissue transplants.

  • To ensure the fulfilment of the current regulations on organ and tissue transplant.

  • To collaborate with the Administration on the evaluation of the functioning of the transplant programmes.

  • To perform required technical reports.


 

The membership of the Committee on Transplantation is variable in each hospital. At Hospital La Fe it is composed of:

  • Two representatives from the Administration (Medical and Nursery)
  • Two representatives from the Transplant Coordination
  • Two representatives from each transplant team of the hospital: Cardiac, Hepatic, Pulmonary, Renal and Pancreatic
  • One representative from the central units of La Fe which are part of the Transplant Programme
  • One representative from the Tissue Transplant Programme
  • One representative from the Infant Transplant Programme
  • One representative from the Surgery Area
  • Two representatives from the Intensive Care Unit.

 

Furthermore, professionals on the topic –from inside and outside the hospital– are invited to the meetings when necessary, so they can provide additional information.

 

3.- MEMBERSHIP OF THE TRANSPLANT COORDINATION TEAM

The following professionals are the members of Hospital La Fe's team:

The Hospital's Transplant Coordinator and person in charge of the unit: Dr. Juan B. Galán Torres, Chief of Anesthesiology.

Transplant Coordination Team formed by:

  • Purificación Gironés Guillén, Nursery Direction representative
  • Manuela Sánchez Vila, Transplant Coordination's Nurse


 

Both are exclusively dedicated to the Transplant Coordination's team, and their office is located at Floor 1, Building D of La Fe Bulevar Sur.

To guarantee patient care and research work, there is a part-time staff formed by the following professionals:
