FOOD SERVICE AT HOSPITAL LA FE

 

 

The Dietetic Unit at Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe develops the more appropriate diets for patients. For this reason, we recommend that they do not eat nor drink anything but the food from the hospital.

 

If the patient, due to religious reasons, allergies, etc., cannot eat something from the diet given to him/her, he/she or a family member should notify the nursing staff.

The top-quality food served at Hospital La Fe is cooked daily in our own kitchens. The menus include Mediterranean gastronomy and are divided in two types of diet:

 

 

  • Basal diet: without any restriction
  • Therapeutic diet:  with food and quantity restrictions due to health reasons. It varies depending on the disease of the patient

 

 

 

 

HOURS (*):

 

-          Breakfast: 8:20 am - 9:00 am

-          Lunch: 12:25 pm - 1:30 pm

-          Afternoon snack: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

-          Dinner: 7:30 pm - 8.45

 

 (*)Hours can vary from 10 to 15 minutes.

 

 

 

KITCHENS

 

The hospital kitchens have a surface area of more than 1,500 square metres and have been designed against any kind of contamination, thanks to good handling, preparation and storage techniques. There are garbage disposal units and waste compactors, as well as different stores to avoid direct spills into waste pipes. The kitchen has a system based on the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and the certifications of quality management systems UNE EN ISO 9001: 2008 and of the environment ISO 14001.2009.
